Floating License Server Administration

The Floating License Server features a simple and straightforward administrative Graphical User Interface (GUI), organized with an easy-to-navigate menu for all actions.

License Installation and Removal

To install a new license, simply navigate to the menu and click the "Install License" menu item. You'll then provide the license obtained from your software vendor. To remove an existing license, select it from the license grid display and choose the corresponding option from the menu.

Real-time User Monitoring and Management

When a license is selected in the main grid, a second "users" grid window automatically displays all users currently utilizing that specific license in real-time. This provides immediate insight into concurrent usage. Should it become necessary, an administrator can "drop" a user from a license. This action immediately revokes their current license usage, making that license seat available for another user. The dropped user will receive an error message during their next scheduled license check, which occurs at most 10 minutes later, informing them that their license is no longer active.

Network Access Control

The Floating License Server also includes robust support for network access control. Administrators can define specific allowed and denied IP blocks within the server's configuration. This powerful feature enables you to limit license usage to particular networks or subnets, ensuring that your software licenses are only accessed from authorized locations within your organization's closed network.
